In my Friday post I wrote about the amazing Bake It Happen fundraising campaign for Breast Cancer Research. It is simple- just head on over to the Bake It Happen website: http://www.bakeithappen.net and sign up. Once you have signed up there are 3 simple steps to help raise money for such an incredible cause.

1. BAKE IT-  You will receive three delicious recipes- Judy’s Pumpkin Brownies, Judy’s Earthquake Cookies and Judy’s Bottom Cupcakes. Have fun baking them, they are delicious!

2. SHARE IT- Package up your baked goods and spread the love AND word with everyone, everywhere!

3. WIN IT- Post to social media about all of your Bake It Happen fun and you could win an iPad Mini or Baked by Melissa Mini of the Month Club.

And the BEST thing about sharing all this wonderful baked goodness is that it is raising awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Research!

Please consider signing up today and helping out this fun and worthy campaign.

My youngest daughter and I had a blast making the recipes this weekend. We shopped for ingredients, cranked up the tunes, danced around the kitchen and bonded over baking. Our apartment smelled amazing. We decided to share our treats with fellow neighbors and then the girls took more goodies to school today to spoil their teachers. Send in a request and maybe our next batch will arrive on your doorstep =)

Here are a few pics from our baking adventure!

It is Wednesday and normally I post my Wordless Wednesday or sort of Wordless Wednesday group of pics but not today. Today I am taking a break and blogging about two things that cannot be ignored. One is Breast Cancer and two is Shari Brooks. Sadly, there are very few of us that can say that our lives have not been touched in some way by breast cancer. It is a battle that too many friends, sisters, wives, mothers, women are fighting against or have lost. So, when Shari Brooks an amazing force in her own right and a woman that I adore asked me to help out with her latest fundraising campaign to raise money and awareness for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation of America, I could not say no. Shari’s own mother passed away from breast cancer five years ago and for her the cause is incredibly personal. On her fantastic blog called My Judy the Foodie, Shari has learned to become an amazing cook by lovingly sharing her mother’s recipes in her own endearing and hilarious way. If you haven’t already checked it out and are looking for some delicious, easy to follow (I can do it!) recipe ideas you should head on over to her site.

Shari’s latest amazing idea comes in the form of Bananas For Boobies and it is a super easy, yummy and happiness inducing way to raise money for such invaluable research. I have been having a blast baking up a storm in my kitchen for such a good cause!

The premise is this:

1. Go to the Bananas For Boobies website and download the recipe.

2. Bake the loaves -your house/apartment will smell wonderful and the neighbors will wander over to “borrow” something just to try a taste.

3. Package up your loaves and share it with someone who deserves a little banana chocolately goodness in their lives.

4. One last thing: take a picture of your beautiful Judy’s Chocolate Banana Loaf and share it on the Bake it Happen page on Facebook or email your pic to bananasforboobies@gmail.com. For every photo posted to @BakeitHappen on Facebook, $1 will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

It is just that easy my friends and you will be helping out an amazing cause! I am sending out a challenge to all my friends out there, if I can do it and we all know what a clutz I am in the kitchen, you can too! Hey great white north, I’m looking at you, eh! 😉

Thanks in advance for your participation and happy, happy Wednesday =)
