It is that time of year- the end of another school year. Time seems to be flying by faster and faster. Today was the last full day of the 2013-2014 academic year for the girls- third and sixth grade. Crazy. So, today I will simply say that they keep making us incredibly proud with their many achievements and that we are pretty darn lucky, girl drama and all!!! 😉 Happy Summer my friends!!!

Right now in our household we are beginning the process of figuring out the whole middle school application procedure for our oldest who will be entering 6th grade next year. In NYC this whole business is just as stressful as applying for a job or figuring out what University/College to attend. It involves tours, test scores, portfolios, interviews, school tests and auditions. And yes, this is for public school. So, we are approaching this with as much of a level head as possible, trying to keep our sense of humor and our perspective. After all, these kids are only 10! I will write in more detail about the whole shebang later on. But right now, I am off to do more research! Oh NYC…  Happy Wednesday. Keep calm and have some wine 😉

Today is the official last day of school for the girls or as they like to say- the official first day of summer! The DOE scheduled a crazy half day of school today after two days off and I gave the girls the option to go or not. They both chose to go as they wanted to squeeze in one last good-bye to their friends (the remaining ones that would be there) as well as their incredible teachers. They both LOVED their teachers this year. I can’t blame them, they lucked out on the teacher lottery and had top notch teachers. In fact, we had been pretty fortunate at our spectacular NYC public school. As much as the education system is intense and insane here (a rant for a different post) the teachers at our school are truly some of the best. But alas, another year has ended and I can’t believe how fast my daughters are growing up. Here are a few pics from the last day. Hope you are all enjoying the start of summer!!! Happy Wednesday xo
