One of these days I hope to actually get in some time to write, when things are not quite as crazy- is that even possible?? =) Anyway, happy Wednesday everyone, today I am going to be sharing some pics that I took last week when the girls and I were out enjoying their Spring Break. We decided to take the tram over to Roosevelt Island (remember the tram scenes from the movie Spiderman?!) and do some exploring. For the mere cost of a swipe of your Metro Card you can take a tram ride boarding from the east side at 59th street taking a journey above the East River to Roosevelt Island. My Manhattan girlies found Roosevelt Island to be both calm and a little bit boring while I quite enjoyed the change of pace and idyllic surroundings. We all agreed that the views of Manhattan were spectacular and that the tram ride was super fun! History of Roosevelt Island

Waiting for the tram to arrive!

Last Friday the girls and I started off Spring Break by heading to Brooklyn to visit the NY Transit Museum. We had a blast learning about the history of New York City’s mass transportation. We were there bright and early and pretty much had the place to ourselves. We took advantage of this by having our very own photo shoot in the subway cars on display from the different eras- 1900’s and beyond. Here are some of the pics from our adventure. I have also included some shots from DUMBO where we wandered over to have lunch and then walked home across the Brooklyn Bridge to Manhattan. Hope you enjoy. Have a fabulous Wedenesday!

For the past few days I have had pretty low energy. The little one was sick all last week and I think I am fighting that virus as well as allergies. So, today instead of going for a run, I decided that I would save my energy for afternoon spin class instead. But, the weather is incredibly beautiful and I still wanted to get out and take advantage of it, so I went for a walk rather than a run and took a few pics along the way. Hope you enjoy. Happy Wednesday, enjoy the spectacular Spring weather!!

This past weekend after A’s band performance it was such a beautiful day we decided to go for a walk. We soon found ourselves at the top of Sara D. Roosevelt Park. Sara D. Roosevelt Park stretches all the way from East Houston Street down to Canal Street. As we walked along the park to the south end to get to the super fun playground I was amazed by all the different activities taking place. There were literally hundreds of people out enjoying the incredible weather. We saw games of soccer, football, catch, handball, chess, poker, polo on bikes (!), basketball as well as bird feeding, people watching, napping, families picnicking, lovers snuggling, buskers busking, panhandlers begging and daydreamers dreaming. It was truly a slice of NYC life coming alive and enjoying the spring like weather. Here are some pics! Have a fabulous Wednesday!

On Saturday we decided to explore a new neighborhood. We hopped on the subway to Times Square and then transferred to the shuttle over to Grand Central Station. From there we walked East toward the UN. We then made our way back uptown with an early dinner stop at Dos Caminos and of course a little treat from Dylan’s Candy Shop. It was a great day of exploring. Here are my pics of the beautiful tall architectural wonders from Grand Central Station to the United Nations. Hope you enjoy =) Β Have a fabulous Wednesday!
