Some days you really just have to take the time to pause and enjoy a cupcake. It is that simple. Wishing you all a delicious Wednesday. 😀

The temperature hit almost 30 degrees today and the sun was out. After the frozen tundra of the last few days, it was practically balmy out. We took advantage of the weather by getting out of the apartment and shaking off some of the cabin fever. It was joyful! Here are the pics of the our walk. Hope you enjoy them. Happy Wednesday my friends! =)

If driving in NYC is like the game Frogger, then walking is a bit like Temple Run- racing as fast as you can, avoiding obstacles that are in your way and always feeling like someone is racing up behind you. In reality it can be deadly if you are not paying attention. Today I noticed this sign along our daily route and I thought it was a clever way to draw attention to paying attention.

Always watch for the cars my friends, don’t follow the crowd and put the damn phone away. Safety first!! Keep on moving, have fun walking and remember when you are safely across the street, don’t forget to look up! 😉 Happy Wednesday!!

It is one of those boring days filled with errands, appointments and nothing really too exciting to write about or even take a picture of. And then, just like that, you turn the corner and see a fire hydrant all dressed up with a hat… In NYC, we are fancy like that 😉 Made me smile. Hoping to add a little positivity to your day. Happy Wednesday!!!

It is another beautiful day here in NYC. We have had a spectacular Fall filled with lots of sunshine and mild temperatures. I am trying to enjoy every moment as I know that winter is indeed coming. Today I had a doctor’s appointment on the east side. Rather than hopping a cab or grabbing the crosstown bus I decided to walk. I always seem to forget how quick it is to cross Central Park and be on the other side. Today on my walk I was rewarded with gorgeous tree colors, marathoners from other countries running the loop, tourists and locals strolling and for me, basically a sense of peace as I marveled once again, at the beauty of this city. Here are few pics that I snapped along the way. Hope you enjoy them. Have a wonderful Wednesday and a fabulous week!

Why, oh why did it take me so long to ride my bike in Central Park? What a rush it was this morning. A picture perfect September day, excellent company, the wind literally blowing through my hair. I am still smiling from the high! Thank you Rena for getting us out there, we did it!

I have lived here for four years but have never taken my road bike into Central Park. I guess I have always been a wee bit intimidated by the idea. As you know, I run and walk in the park all the time and see the cyclists whip by at incredible speeds, usually stopping for no one and occasionally cursing out pedestrians for even daring to cross the street. There is a love/hate between runners and cyclists who are often vying for more pavement space and are not happy when the ‘rules of the road’ are not followed by either group.

So, cycling in Central Park does have many challenges… pot holes, tourists darting out at non-intersections, tourists on bikes weaving to and fro (I get it, there IS a lot to look at!), runners not hanging out in the running path, other cyclists moving at incredibly fast speeds, cyclists who are above the rules of the road (hey, it’s NYC we have to learn to play nicely with others), parks dept. vehicles, regular vehicles, squirrels, dogs off leash, dogs on leash… It is a lot like playing the old video game Frogger.

It was awesome!! I loved every minute, even the Harlem Hill (3X). There really is something about being on a bike in the outdoors, I am so glad that I was reminded of how much I love it. I am already planning the next bike workout. Happy Wednesday everyone! Hope you can find a little something that you love to do this week!

Today I am using all of the laundry that I have to fold as an excuse to watch Orange Is The New Black. Perfection. Shhh… Do NOT interrupt the important folding going on or I might have to shank you 😉 (Happy Wednesday)

It is a perfectly miserable day in NYC. The rain is falling heavily, the wind is driving the rain sideways, the puddles are the size of small lakes and it is cold. The kind of day that makes you want to crawl back under the covers and stay there. Just as I was my mumbling about how crappy the weather was, my doorman Gil said “Hey, at least it’s not snow!” and just like that I thought “Damn, ain’t that the truth!”. Tiny things can turn the day around. Hope you can find something to keep positive about on this Wednesday, the last day of April. April showers bring flowers and all that jazz… 😉

I know that there are many of us who are not so patiently waiting for Game of Thrones to return with season 4. President Obama received an early release copy and is currently watching it. It is good to be the president. The rest of us will have to wait until April 6th.

There are ads for the new season all over the city. I don’t want to sound like too much of a fangirl but I can’t help but get a little giddy when I see a new one:

Winter IS coming and for once I can honestly say, I can’t wait!

Happy Wednesday and remember “Nothing burns like the cold”- George R. R. Martin, A Game of Thrones
