So, this event I am helping out with is right across from Doughnut Plant. The temptation proved to be too great. It was worth every calorie. Happy hump day everyone π

We have been very spoiled with the weather over the past few weeks in NYC. It has been sunny and very mild for the season. In a word, it has been glorious. I feel like I need to cherish these beautiful fall days because pretty soon the dropping temperatures, sharp winds and shorter days of light will arrive. Winter is creeping in right around the corner. So today on the blog I am simply sharing some photos I have taken over the past week that have captured the essence of autumn and it’s loveliness in NYC. It really is my favorite season here. Hope you are having a good week. Happy Wednesday and Happy Autumn!!! π

Wordless Wednesday: Downtown to Uptown, A Little Wandering Today

It is one of those gloomy, gray, coolish fall days where it would be very easy to pull the covers over your head and go back to bed. Instead I went on an errand run with my friend Jess and took some pics along the way. Hope you enjoy the randomness of my latest adventure wandering the streets of Manhattan. From Chelsea to Harlem and back home again, I love the different vibes in each of the the ‘hoods in this city! Happy Hump Day =)
Wordless Wednesday: Apples And Cinnamon In My Kitchen

I have spent two days making delicious dishes in my kitchen. For those of you who know me, you know that this is highly unusual. Yesterday I tried out the amazing recipe for my Bananas for Boobies post that I will be working on next week. If you don’t know what Bananas for Boobies is, you need to visit the site to get on board for this amazing cause. Click on the logo on my page or just hop on over here.
So, today I decided that I would make some slow cooker applesauce. We have a ton of apples hanging out in the kitchen from our weekend apple picking adventure and I did not want them to go to waste. I went online and found a super easy recipe to make the applesauce. We all know that I NEED super easy π
I simply used 8 apples, peeled, cored and cut up in chunks, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 1/2 cups of water and 2 tsp of cinnamon. And voila, I threw all the ingredients in the slow cooker on high for four hours. And then I waited. The amazing smells permeated through the apartment. Both the dog and I started to salivate… At the end delicious applesauce for the whole family. Woot!
I think tomorrow I will have to get out of the kitchen though, I have a reputation to keep!! Happy Wednesday =)
P.S. The kids LOVED it =)

Wordless Wednesday: Last Little Bit of Play

Well it is definitely September and the pace of life is speeding up. Although the girls do not go back to school until Monday, my mind is full of school related anxiety and “stuff”. Classes are set, I am figuring out pick up and drop off (I have a middle schooler now!!), after-school activities/schedules, new shoes, new clothes and of course what to pack for the dreaded daily lunch π And then of course all the goals that we have set for the coming year… It really does seem like September is the real New Year’s!!
So… When my youngest insisted on going to the Children’s Museum of Manhattan (CMOM) today I was hesitant. We have not been there for over a year or so. It really is the perfect spot for little kids, my oldest has definitely outgrown it. But ‘R’ wanted to go and see the Healthy Eating and Body Exhibit and well, I couldn’t really argue with that.
We had a blast while ‘A’ stayed home and put the finishing touches on her summer assignments. I was reminded to slow down and enjoy… there are a few precious days of summer left. And most importantly, that play is indeed learning.
Happy Wednesday my friends!

This past weekend the whole family traveled to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada to see my little bro also known as “crazy one-eyed uncle Paul” get married. It was an absolutely fabulous time. I can honestly say that I have never seen my brother that happy. He was ecstatic and it is clear to me that Andrea and Paul are a perfect match. Β From the moment we got off the plane, Andrea’s family was incredibly welcoming and warm and in true Italian style showed their love by feeding us with spectacular food. It was a wonderful time filled with love, laughter, family, new family, friends, Canadian warmth and hospitality and of course a little bit of adventure too π I have included some of my favorite pics from the big day, hope you enjoy them. Congratulations Andrea and Paul, we wish you much joy and happiness as you start your new life together!!!!! xoxoxo

The whole damn family is excited because crazy “one-eyed” Uncle Paul (brother Paul) is getting married. We can’t wait!!!! Look out Canada, here we come π We are SUPER excited even at 5:30 in the morning π Happy Wednesday!!!

I always say that it has been a most excellent weekend in NYC if your feet hurt, your belly is full of good food, your bank account is a whole lot emptier, many drinks have been drunk, many excellent sights have been seen and much laughter has been had. Based on that criteria, this past weekend visit with my Ottawa girlies was a HUGE success and a much needed adventure for all. We walked and walked and drank and ate and drank some more, we shopped and shopped and shopped until I almost dropped. We rocked out to “Rock of Ages”, we laughed and caught up. We reminisced and made new memories. And we even managed to sneak in a viewing of “Twilight”. What more could you ask for really??!! Here are a few pics from the weekend, hope you enjoy them. Thanks for visiting Nina and Kel. Love you both lots and lots… (missed you D!) I guess it is now my turn to come back up North, eh?? xxoo
