Today is National Running Day so even though I was feeling a little sluggish, I laced up the sneakers met up with some of my favorite running gals and headed to Central Park. I am incredibly fortunate to call Central Park my training ground. Its beauty in all the seasons is stunning. The views NEVER get old and I promise to never take the fact that I can run here for granted. Today, I will share some pics with you that I took during our running route. We ran at a very leisurely pace on this hot and humid day, we allotted time for pictures, water breaks and even headed over to the New York Road Runners Club to pick up our National Running Day bibs and bandanas. It was perfect. I feel so very fortunate to be able to run with a group of fabulous women on one of the best running courses in the world. I run to be healthy, strong, fierce, the beast mom, for my sanity, to spend time with my friends, for coffee time afterwards and of course, for cupcakes 😉 Happy Wednesday everyone and Happy Running!!!

Wordless Wednesday: Rhododendron Mile, Central Park

Today on our run in Central Park, we were on my favorite FLAT stretch on the east side of the park when our group noticed the beautiful flowers in bloom lining our route. Apparently this is a stretch from East 85th to 96th street that has been revitalized by the Central Park Conservancy and named Rhododendron Mile. The flowers have been planted and the full effect of the project in spectacular glory will be seen in Spring 2013. I think even this year, it already adds beautiful color to an already pretty amazing park. So now on those gruelling morning runs I will not only look forward to this stretch for it’s wonderful flatness but also for the added bonus of the incredible breathtaking beauty of nature. Hope you are enjoying your Wednesday, S =)
Wordless Wednesday: Up A Tree In Central Park

A big shout out to the crew working in Central Park today. They are literally climbing trees, checking out the health and safety of all of the beautiful limbs that line the walking paths in the park. I have to admit I am a bit jealous, how cool would it be to climb one of the tallest trees in Central Park? Can you imagine the view from up there?! Thanks Parks and Rec and Central Park Conservancy. As New Yorker’s we are pretty lucky to have such an amazing backyard!! Have a fabulous Wednesday 😉
