Taking Memphis for a walk in Central Park on Saturday mornings has become one of my favorite things to do. No matter what the weather we are out there. He has a chance to run off leash and chase squirrels and I get to enjoy the quiet beauty and chat with a friend. It really is a perfect start to the weekend.

Today, with a light dusting of snow, was incredibly beautiful. Cold, but so beautiful. The park was packed with people and their dogs. I think a few tourists were even braving the chilly walk.

The calm in the holiday storm =)

Just thought I would share the pics. Have a wonderful day. Stay warm, stay sane and enjoy some time with the people who mean the most to you. Happy weekend xox

Taking the time today for a bit of personal reflection. The sun is shining down on this spectacular city. The dog and I walked through Central Park and currently the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade plays in the background while my little family lounges. Life is certainly not perfect, it never is, but there really is always something to be thankful for.

Right now I am thankful for my girls. They are challenging and exhausting but they are also smart, determined and hilarious. I am thankful for my family, who no matter how far away are always available for a chat and a positive word or two of support. I am thankful for Mr Memphis who shares my love of walks in the park. I am so damn thankful for my friends, especially my girlfriends who just understand. All of it.

I am thankful for another day to explore, experience, question, to be angry, to fight, to love, to care, to be kind, to have adventures.

Wishing all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am thankful for you ❤️

Today is a beautiful spring like day. The temps are climbing and the sun is shining. I have been sidelined from running for a few months now with achilles tendonitis. Rest and physical therapy have been helping but I have definitely missed pounding the pavement.

I recently got the go ahead to start running again. To run in very short amounts. And I promised I would listen to my body. Something most of us runners are not very good at.

So, this morning I headed to the park and did a VERY short and slow walk/run. It felt good and it is a start. Central Park was its majestic self, teeming with runners, walkers and cyclists. It is really hard to resist its beauty on such an incredible day 😀

Memphis was happy to welcome me back home by saving a sunny spot for me on the couch 💜

Happy Wednesday my friends. Keep springing forward and focusing on the positive. Remember, one foot at a time 😉

Two more days until the girls are finally out of school for the summer. I can’t wait. Remind me I said that in a few weeks 😉 It is a spectacular day in NYC. No humidity, no clouds, not too hot and the promise of hazy, lazy days of summer right around the corner.

Here’s to day trips, no packed lunches, picnics in the park, exploring the city, going away to camp, vacations away from the city, the empty summer streets, sleeping in, staying up late and enjoying each and every moment.

Happy Summer my friends!!! 💜💜💜

Today is National Running Day so even though I was feeling a little sluggish, I laced up the sneakers met up with some of my favorite running gals and headed to Central Park. I am incredibly fortunate to call Central Park my training ground. Its beauty in all the seasons is stunning. The views NEVER get old and I promise to never take the fact that I can run here for granted. Today, I will share some pics with you that I took during our running route. We ran at a very leisurely pace on this hot and humid day, we allotted time for pictures, water breaks and even headed over to the New York Road Runners Club to pick up our National Running Day bibs and bandanas. It was perfect. I feel so very fortunate to be able to run with a group of fabulous women on one of the best running courses in the world. I run to be healthy, strong, fierce, the beast mom, for my sanity, to spend time with my friends, for coffee time afterwards and of course, for cupcakes 😉 Happy Wednesday everyone and Happy Running!!!

I know, I know, we are all sick and tired of this winter already and it is only the beginning of February. There is another winter storm warning for NYC again tonight. Yep, we are definitely getting winter this winter.

But then, you step foot into Central Park and it is snow covered and the sun is shining and your breath is literally taken away by its beauty. It is a spectacular winter wonderland all on its own. That is when you truly enjoy the moment. Yes, it will all turn to a slushy mess later on but for now it is simply perfect. Today on my run, there were so many moments when I was truly grateful to be able to be in the park and experience the freedom, beauty and joy of just being part of the scenery.

I am going to share some winter pics from the last couple of days. They are ones that have made me smile in wonder. Ah mother nature, we do love to curse you but you truly are magnificent in all your glory. I hope you enjoy them. I am going to embrace this sunny beautiful winter day before another storm sets in and find myself trudging through the wind and snow. Have a wonderful day everyone, be safe, be warm, be happy!! =)

Today I had the pleasure of welcoming in May on a field trip with a second grade class. We went to Central Park and learned about climate and weather from one of the amazing Park Rangers. It was the perfect way to start the day. Central Park is simply spectacular right now. Enjoy the pics. Today there is a warm front moving in that will soon be chased out by a cold front… ahh, the joys of winter 😉 So, our run in Central Park was incredibly foggy and breathtakingly beautiful. Here are a few pics, hope you enjoy them. Happy Hump Day my friends! And yes, sorry my Canadian peeps, we are running in only one layer. Maybe winter really is better here (see previous post).

This past weekend was pretty relaxed. We have been doing a lot of activities lately and I think we all needed a bit of time to chill out and take it easy. I for one, needed some quality couch time. Pretty soon the crazy season of the holidays will be upon us and it was nice to just have a weekend with very little planned. On Sunday we took advantage of some balmy fall weather and went for a stroll through Central Park. So far November has been a fabulous month for weather and there has been very little to complain about, even if the days are short they are filled with sunshine and warm temperatures. It seemed as if the whole city was out enjoying the day. In the back of everyone’s mind we know that the gorgeous weather won’t last and pretty soon we will be forced indoors by blustery winds, snow and cold. But for now we are taking advantage of it and getting out and about. I am amazed at how colorful the trees are in the park for this time of year. Here are some pics, hope you enjoy. Have a fabulous week.

Today was a perfect day for a 7K run in Central Park. The weather was overcast, slightly windy and a bit of a drizzle. And I believe I even caught the briefest glimpse of Matt Damon at the end of my run, now THAT is motivation 😉 Hope you enjoy the pics!!

There is great satisfaction when you are running faster than the cars are moving 🙂
