Well, right now the suitcases are mostly packed, just about everything is crossed off the “to do” list and the kids are bouncing around the apartment with excitement. And I, I am beyond excited too! The girls are going to Ottawa for two weeks while Ron and I embark on our own adventure to Europe. This is my first trip to Europe and I can barely contain my excitement and did I mention we are going without children???!!! Yes, I will definitely miss them but I am also looking forward to some quality time with the Mr. This past year has been insanely busy and crazy to say the least and as you know there have been a few minor adjustments to our life π I can’t wait to just slow down and re-connect. So my friends, we are outta here… I will update from Prague, Rome and Tuscany as often as I can, there will be many stories to tell and pictures to share. And of course while we are gone our one year anniversary of living in NYC will pass, so in honor of that and Wordless Wednesday, here are a few of my very favorite pics that I have taken in the past year. Ciao!

Wordless Wednesday: A Trip to the DMV

Yesterday, I finally bit the bullet and went to the DMV office located at Herald Square. It was time to surrender my Ontario driver’s license to get my NY State driver’s license. Two hours later, I left, officially licensed to drive in New York and I promptly got on the subway π Ironically, this trip to the DMV made our move to NYC finally seem official and very real. I now have a permanent piece of ID that has my picture and our address in NYC on it. We live here. Wow. It may finally be sinking in.
But, enough about me and back to Wordless Wednesday. While I was on my way to Herald Square I walked down the very famous 34th St. and took a few pics. Hope you enjoy them. Happy Wednesday!
Wordless Wednesday: Pounding the Pavement

Today I pounded the pavement canvassing the neighborhood for donations for our upcoming school auction. It was a beautiful day- bright, sunny and not too cold. I enjoyed getting caught up in the hustle and bustle of the sidewalks. It is way more interesting to be a part of the energy of the city than watch the world pass by from a car window. As I popped in and out of the local businesses I took a few pictures trying to capture another “normal” day in NYC. Hope you enjoy!
