Today we ran our practice 5K for the Girls on the Run race coming up at the end of the month. Girls on the Run is such an amazing, empowering, positive organization that has taught my youngest incredible life skills. Through the program the girls learn about perserverance, gaining confidence, working as a team, positive strategies when dealing with adversity and most of all, encouraging and supporting each other. I am so proud of my little rockstar and love being able to share these moments with her.
Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday my friends. May we all take some time to remember to lift each other up!

It is a gorgeous sunny afternoon. There is a lovely breeze coming off the river. Perfect for a little baseball or for lounging around watching baseball practice. And that is exactly what I am doing. Enjoying the moment, taking a breather, appreciating the simple joys in life. Pretty soon it will be time to make dinner, help with homework, tidy the apartment, take out the dog, deal with reality. But not right now.

Sometimes just putting one foot in front of the next and willing yourself to move forward is the hardest part of the day. I have been struggling training for my upcoming half marathon for various reasons. But today I laced up the shoes, took a deep breath, headed to the park and just kept moving. I hope you all have a beautiful day filled with hope, determination and little steps forward. π

There is nothing good about a spring cold. The weather is finally beautiful but instead of being outside all you want to do is hide under the covers. Today my spring cold along with the “pollen tsunami” that is currently happening in NYC is kicking my butt. I have decided the only good cure is to crash on the couch, catch up with the firemen from “Chicago Fire” and keep the Kleenex close. Hope you are all sniffle free. Have a wonderful Wednesday! π·π

It was a bit of a struggle bus this morning as I pounded 8 miles of Central Park. The sun was shining, everything is blooming, other runners are out in full force-it is pretty much perfect. Except I was overdressed and my allergies were bugging me and my pace was all over the place and, and, and… That is the funny thing about running, everything can be perfect and you can still have a tough day on the road.
But, I did it. 8 miles. I am training again, back in the game. Moving forward. Doing it. I am out there. Ottawa, I am coming for you!! π
A BIG thank you to Jessica who dragged my butt through the last four. Gotta love my amazing running partners/girlfriends. I am one lucky lady.
Get out there today and do something that is going to kick your butt just a bit, you can do it!! Happy Wednesday! Play nice and always remember to chose kindness. Xox

Spring, you didn’t forget us!! The sun is shining, the birds are singing, buds are bursting, people are sneezing, the sun is warm and spring is making an appearance. You never know what curve balls life may throw at you or where the adventure may take you but there is comfort in the seasons. No matter how long the winter, the beauty and colors of spring are bursting throughout the city. Take a deep breath, one foot at a time and find peace in new beginnings. Be well my friends. Here is a bit of color to brighten your day!
