Here we are, the last day of 2014. Each year has it ups and downs, its highlights, its challenges, things we will cherish forever and moments we would rather forget. So, instead of looking back, I am going to look forward. 2015 brings with it the promise of new adventures, exciting possibilities and as always, the unknown.

I have spent the holidays with family and friends and even had some time to wander the city I love, reconnecting with the energy and excitement that NYC offers. It is during these times that I have found a few moments of reflection. I am truly grateful for the love of family, incredible friendships, continued health and the ability to have so many wonderful life experiences. I look forward to wherever life may take me in the upcoming year.

I have included some pics from the last week, I hope you enjoy them.

Happy New Year to all of you! I wish you happiness and health as you continue your own adventure!

All the best,

S xox

There are only eight more sleeps until the jolly old elf in the red suit arrives. There are beautiful signs of Christmas all over the city and at this point even the grinchiest New Yorker must find their heart growing at least one size. Here are a few pics I have snapped over the last week as I have been gathering my own holiday spirit and gearing up for a wonderful time with family and friends. Hope you enjoy them!!
Wishing you all a warm and festive Wednesday!! 🙂

Happy December! It is the best time for exploring the sights of NYC. Okay, maybe I say that about every season but I do especially love the magic of this city around the Christmas holiday. The lights, the window displays, the music, the street performers, the Christmas trees, the lit Hanukah Menorahs, the food, Santa Claus peaking at you from every corner… It definitely makes the darker days and colder temps that much more bearable. This past weekend we kicked off the holiday season by heading to the NY Botanical Garden to see the Holiday Train Show. There really is something magical about the entire property with its sprawling grounds, beautiful gardens and wide open spaces that encourage exploration. The weather was perfect and the whole family enjoyed a little escape from the city or so it seemed… really we had just taken a quick train ride into the Bronx. The change of pace and scenery was awesome. The Holiday Train show is NOT to be missed, I am always in such awe when I see the buildings re-created from bark, leaves and other natural materials. Here are a some of my favorite pics from the day, I hope you enjoy them. Happy Wednesday my friends! Keep smiling through this crazy, busy season 😉

She is such a beauty as she quietly watches over the city and sneakily follows your every move. It is worth taking your hand out of a glove on a bitter cold day to capture her magnificence. Happy Wednesday!

Thanks to my amazing husband I have had the opportunity to get away for a few days, just me, by myself. It has been wonderful. What I have enjoyed the most is just being able to reflect and zone out in peace and quiet. Time to get lost in my own thoughts. I head back to NYC today refreshed and focused. I am incredibly grateful for this. Here are a few pics from the past few days. Hope you are all finding little moments of wooosaaa in the midst of crazy November!

It is one of those boring days filled with errands, appointments and nothing really too exciting to write about or even take a picture of. And then, just like that, you turn the corner and see a fire hydrant all dressed up with a hat… In NYC, we are fancy like that 😉 Made me smile. Hoping to add a little positivity to your day. Happy Wednesday!!!

It is another beautiful day here in NYC. We have had a spectacular Fall filled with lots of sunshine and mild temperatures. I am trying to enjoy every moment as I know that winter is indeed coming. Today I had a doctor’s appointment on the east side. Rather than hopping a cab or grabbing the crosstown bus I decided to walk. I always seem to forget how quick it is to cross Central Park and be on the other side. Today on my walk I was rewarded with gorgeous tree colors, marathoners from other countries running the loop, tourists and locals strolling and for me, basically a sense of peace as I marveled once again, at the beauty of this city. Here are few pics that I snapped along the way. Hope you enjoy them. Have a wonderful Wednesday and a fabulous week!

Today is a gloomy, rainy day. But I couldn’t help but notice little bursts of color that would not be muted among the concrete jungle. I hope you enjoy a little splash of sunshine among the raindrops. Happy Wednesday 🙂

I have to do 6 weeks of O/T on my pinky. Yes, you read that right, on my pinky. A couple of weeks ago I was at R’s baseball game and a foul ball was coming at my head. I used my hand to shield my head and well, let’s just say that the finger that stopped the ball wasn’t too happy and came out at a very odd angle. A bad dislocation and other tendon issues that I barely understand have sent me to O/T to get everything fully functioning as it should be.
So, that is why today I started off my day in a ‘hood that I normally don’t hang out in. Times Square is actually quite pleasant on a weekday morning. The crazy crowds have not yet gathered and the hustle and bustle of people going to work, combined with the ever present lights offer just enough excellent distraction and people watching. Here are a couple of pics I took this morning. I look forward to getting out and exploring a new place a couple of times a week and of course, doing numerous hand exercises 😉
Have a wonderful day!

In my Friday post I wrote about the amazing Bake It Happen fundraising campaign for Breast Cancer Research. It is simple- just head on over to the Bake It Happen website: http://www.bakeithappen.net and sign up. Once you have signed up there are 3 simple steps to help raise money for such an incredible cause.

1. BAKE IT-  You will receive three delicious recipes- Judy’s Pumpkin Brownies, Judy’s Earthquake Cookies and Judy’s Bottom Cupcakes. Have fun baking them, they are delicious!

2. SHARE IT- Package up your baked goods and spread the love AND word with everyone, everywhere!

3. WIN IT- Post to social media about all of your Bake It Happen fun and you could win an iPad Mini or Baked by Melissa Mini of the Month Club.

And the BEST thing about sharing all this wonderful baked goodness is that it is raising awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Research!

Please consider signing up today and helping out this fun and worthy campaign.

My youngest daughter and I had a blast making the recipes this weekend. We shopped for ingredients, cranked up the tunes, danced around the kitchen and bonded over baking. Our apartment smelled amazing. We decided to share our treats with fellow neighbors and then the girls took more goodies to school today to spoil their teachers. Send in a request and maybe our next batch will arrive on your doorstep =)

Here are a few pics from our baking adventure!
